The 2026 Next Level Sports Medicine Conference is a dynamic one-day experience designed for sports medicine professionals who are passionate about advancing the health, performance and care of athletes. Presented by AdventHealth and the Orlando Magic, this year’s event brings together top minds in sports medicine for a powerful exploration of whole-athlete care.

Featuring a multi-disciplinary lineup of expert speakers, the 2026 program will deliver practical, evidence-based insights that can be applied immediately in the athletic training room, clinical and performance settings.

Together, AdventHealth and Rothman Orthopaedic Institute will showcase how collaboration across specialties strengthens care for athletes of all levels.

Objectives/Outcomes:

  • Explore current trends and best practices in post-operative anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and rehabilitation.
  • Identify key benchmarks and indicators of progress — and potential concern — in post-operative ACL recovery.
  • Define ramp lesions, their clinical implications, and approaches to surgical vs. non-surgical management.
  • Recognize indicators for manipulation under anesthesia and appropriate patient selection criteria.
  • Discuss early-stage combined ACL/medial meniscus repair rehab strategies for optimal outcomes.
  • Apply neurocognitive techniques to enhance motor learning and decision-making throughout all phases of rehabilitation.
  • Integrate sports performance principles to strengthen rehabilitation outcomes and improve return-to-sport readiness.
  • Identify the key components of a performance-based return-to-sport protocol.
  • Emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between medical, rehab, and performance professionals.
  • Examine the psychological aspects of early sports specialization, including signs of burnout and effective sports psychology interventions.
  • Discuss best practices in injury prevention and performance through wellness for youth athletes.

Our Co-Directors:

 

Dr. Luke Oh is the Medical Director of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at AdventHealth Orthopaedic Institute. He is a renowned surgeon, medical educator, research scientist, entrepreneur, and innovator. He is a triple-fellowship trained, board certified Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgeon. Dr. Oh completed multiple subspecialty fellowships including Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at Mass General, Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, and an apprenticeship with Dr. James Andrews to master the techniques for Tommy John surgery for pro baseball players. Dr. Oh spent 14 years as a full-time faculty member at Harvard Medical School and Mass General and was also a team physician for the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, New England Revolution, Boston Bruins and Harvard University for over 12 years.


Dr. D. Harrison Youmans, MD is a board-certified non-surgical Orthopaedics and sports medicine specialist. He uses treatments like physical therapy, activity modifications, medication, and immobilization to treat all types of sports-related injuries and other Orthopaedic conditions. Dr. Youmans obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed residency training in Family Medicine and a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine where he trained under world-renowned Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.
