CHACU invites proposals for Concurrent Sessions at the 2026 Annual Conference, themed around our shared mission to educate healthcare professionals who embody compassion, integrity, and service.
This year’s conference, “Motivated by Mission: Reimagining Curricula to Shape Healers, not Just Practitioners”, explores how hospital-affiliated institutions are reimagining healthcare education beyond competence to form professionals who heal with empathy, lead with integrity, and serve with purpose. Guiding Themes:
Proposals are welcome that align with one or more of the following conference strands:
- Character and Compassion: Integrating moral and spiritual formation into professional education.
- Whole Person Education: Linking mind, body, and spirit in healthcare training.
- Mission in Practice: Institutional initiatives that embody mission in contemporary healthcare.
- Community and Belonging: Creating inclusive environments of care, learning, and support.
- Innovation and Transformation: Reimagining pedagogy, technology, and curricula to sustain compassionate practice.
- Leadership Formation: Mentorship and reflective practice in developing healthcare leaders.Session Format
Concurrent Sessions:
Each Concurrent Session will be 60 minutes in total and should include:
- 20-minute individual or group presentation
- 40-minute facilitated discussion promoting participant engagement, reflection, and collaboration
Submission Guidelines:
Proposals must include:
- Session Title
- Conference Theme Alignment – Indicate which theme(s) your session addresses
- Educational or Institutional Context
- Learning Outcomes – 2–3 clear, measurable takeaways for participants
- Interactive Elements – Description of discussion, activity, or engagement method
- Names and Positions of the Presenters – Include full name(s), academic/professional title(s), and institutional affiliation(s)
- Abstract (250–300 words)

Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated for:
- Relevance to theme and mission
- Evidence of innovation and applicability to healthcare education
- Opportunities for active learning and participant engagement
- Clarity and coherence of objectives
