This hands-on event will give participants an overview of basic understanding of kinesiology taping and how to utilize it with pediatric and adult populations. We will discuss the history, how the tape works, basic application strategies, recommended supplies, contraindications, assessment, and specific application techniques. Lab opportunities and discussions will allow participants to experience the use of kinesiology tape to address patient specific needs and to improve outcomes in a variety of conditions.
Outcomes/Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate understanding of kinesiology tape history and how the tape works.
2. Demonstrate understanding of taping basics.
3. Apply basic application strategies and contraindications.
4. Demonstrate critical thinking of assessment considerations and patient/caregiver education.
