This comprehensive one-day course serves as a platform for healthcare professionals to delve into the latest guidelines and standards regarding the prenatal detection of heart defects. Led by field experts, the program encompasses didactic lectures addressing current challenges, best practices in prenatal counseling, and delivery planning. 
Attendees will gain insights into fetal cardiac physiology, various types of congenital cardiovascular diseases, and advancements in cardiac imaging, fostering a deeper understanding of these complex topics. Facilitated by experts from Pediatric Cardiology and Maternal Fetal Medicine disciplines, the event encourages open dialogue through interactive question-and-answer sessions and panel discussions. 

Moreover, participants will have the opportunity for case observations and live echo scanning sessions, enhancing their practical skills and diagnostic capabilities. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare teams, this event aims to enhance patient experiences and ultimately improve outcomes.

Event Objectives:

  • Describe current guidelines for fetal cardiac screening and fetal echocardiography.
  • Discuss the advances of fetal cardiac imaging. 
  • Identify key markers to determine post-natal acuity of possible cyanotic congenital heart defects.
  • Determine the clinical importance of accurate and compassionate prenatal detection and diagnosis of congenital heart disease.
  • Describe the challenges of prenatal counseling. 
  • Identify ways to improve multidisciplinary collaboration between maternal fetal medicine and pediatric cardiology.
