Hormones and Glands and Diabetes provide a review of the endocrine system with an emphasis on assessment, treatment and care of the patient with endocrine disorders most commonly encountered in critical care. The specific endocrine disorders covered include: syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone, adrenal insufficiency, pheochromocytoma, Cushing's Syndrome, Addison's disease and hypoparathyroidism. The diabetes course provides assessment, treatment, management, and care of the patient with diabetes mellitus.
