Bridging the Gap – Enhancing Patient Care Through Health Literacy

Price: $15.00

This course provides the foundation for knowledge and application of health literacy principles, particularly in the areas of patient-provider communication and the use of plain language. We will cover the necessary skills to effectively communicate complex medical information in a way that is easily understood by patients with varying levels of health literacy. Targeted education and training in health literacy strategies, including clear communication techniques and the use of plain language, is essential to improving patient engagement, empowerment, and overall healthcare quality. A health care professional without this understanding can lead to misunderstandings, decreased patient adherence to treatment plans, and poorer health outcomes.
