Janet Celli, BSN, RN, PCCN
Janet obtained her BSN at Boston University and graduated in 1986. She has over thirty-four years of nursing experience which includes: cardiovascular intensive care, oncology surgical care, and cardiovascular progressive care. She is currently a manager in a cardiothoracic surgical step-down unit. She has been awarded Florida Hospital’s Nursing Excellence in Leadership Award and was a finalist for Nursing Spectrum Excellence Awards in Advancing and Leading the Profession. She has been a speaker for both local and national AACN conferences. She has also been a speaker for the National Association of Nurses in Business.

Revisioning Author: Alba Cruz Betancourt, MSN, APRN, CCNS
Alba Cruz is an advanced practice registered nurse, board certified as a clinical nurse specialist. She has over 20 years of nursing experience with over 12 years of experience in cardiac intensive care and cardiovascular intensive care units. Alba was an ACLS instructor until 2018. She obtained her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Central Florida in 2010. She currently is the corporate director of Nursing Practice and Professional Development for AdventHealth.

Revisioning Author: Jennifer Simmons, MSN, RN, CCRN
Jennifer Simmons, is a board-certified critical care registered nurse. She obtained her BSN from the University of Central Florida in 2013 and her MSN from the University of West Florida in 2018. She has experience working at the bedside in intensive care, progressive care, pre/post cardiac catheter/electrophysiology lab, and education. She has worked as an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Florida and currently works as a Corporate Nursing Manager for Nursing Professional Development and Education for AdventHealth.

Revisioning Author: M. Julie Talmadge, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, APPD
Dr. Talmadge is a family nurse practitioner with over 18 years of experience as a nurse practitioner. Her most recent clinical experience was in acute care working with a surgical residency program in Orlando, Florida. In 2013 she was awarded her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She currently is the Accredited Provider Program Director with echelon, Continuing Education and Professional Development, a Division of AdventHealth University. Dr. Talmadge is a member of the Central Florida Advanced Nursing Practice Council. She served on the Florida Board of Nursing, as appointed by the Governor (term 2018 - 2021). She has been adjunct faculty at the University of Central Florida and has precepted graduate nurse practitioner students.

Susan Whitney, MSN, RN, PCCN, MM, BME
Susan received her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from the University of South Florida and completed her undergraduate nursing education from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Performance from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. Susan works full time as an Assistant Nurse Manager for clinical staff development on a Cardiothoracic Surgical Step-Down Unit at AdventHealth Orlando. Susan has received the Florida Hospital Excellence in Mentoring Award, Patient Care Award, and was a Southeast Region finalist for Nursing Spectrum Excellence in Mentoring. With a love for education, Susan is prolific in ACLS, BLS, First Aid, EKG, Pacing, Sternotomy, and other programs. She has been a speaker at Orlando Education’s O.N.E. conference as well as several of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses’ National Teaching Institutes across the U.S.
