This course is part of the Anatomy and Physiology Review for NMT/RT. This course on Neurology presents an overview of the structures; microstructures, and macrostructures of the neurological system. Course content includes discussion of basic and complex neurological assessments, intracranial dynamics, and optimal management of the critically ill patient. Also presented are several diagnostic tests and procedures used in the evaluation of a neurological patient.

Dr. Patricia Clayton-LeVasseur has been in nursing practice for over 20 years. She has an extensive background in critical care, neuroscience, nursing administration, and education. She received her Philosophy in Nursing degree from Barry University. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at AdventHealth University. Dr. Clayton-LeVasseur is a member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and the National League for Nursing. She has published articles in peer-reviewed nursing journals and presented at several international nursing conferences.

Misti Tuppeny, MSN, CNS, CCRN, CNRN, CCNS
Misti Tuppeny, MSN, CNS, CCRN, CNRN, CCNS, graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She then received her Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix and her post Master's certificate as a clinical nurse specialist from the University of Central Florida. She has achieved and maintains national certifications for Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) as well as Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN). She is the Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Neuro Critical Care, Neuroscience and the Stroke Behavioral Health units at Florida Hospital in Orlando. She oversees neuroscience education development and research, assists with patient care planning for complex care issues, and assess and evaluates patient care systems issues that affect patient care outcomes.
