Price: $13.50
Imaging CE: 1.50
This course is accessible until 1/31/2026

This course is part of the Anatomy and Physiology Review for NMT/RT. This course on Neurology presents an overview of the structures; microstructures, and macrostructures of the neurological system. Course content includes discussion of basic and complex neurological assessments, intracranial dynamics, and optimal management of the critically ill patient. Also presented are several diagnostic tests and procedures used in the evaluation of a neurological patient.

This content is supported by 6 additional anatomy and physiology courses for NMT/RT: Cardiovascular, Endocrine, Gastrointestinal, Hematology, Pulmonary, and Renal.

NOTE for Imaging: This activity may be available in multiple formats or from different sponsors; individuals may not repeat and report a self-learning activity for credit twice in the same biennium. You must be licensed in the state of Florida to report an activity

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
  1. Name the microstructures of the neurological system and describe their functions, including impulse conduction and neurotransmitters.
  2. List the macrostructures of the neurological system and identify their locations in the body.
  3. Describe the major functions of the neurological system's macrostructures.
  4. Explain the intracranial dynamics of the neurological system, including the Monroe-Kellie hypothesis and autoregulation of intracranial pressure.
  5. Identify types and causes of herniation syndromes.
  6. Summarize the steps involved in basic and complex neurological assessment.
