Brandon Cunningham, BSN, RN, CCRN
Brandon is a student in the Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Program at AdventHealth University. Brandon graduated from the University of Florida nursing program with his BSN in 2018. He then began working in the cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit at Shands UF Health where he specialized in caring for critical patients with various supportive equipment such as aortic balloon pumps, ECMO, ventricular assist devices, continuous renal replacement therapy, and ultrasound for IV insertion. Brandon worked there for just under four years before doing a travel assignment to a trauma/COVID ICU in Phoenix, Arizona. Brandon enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, camping, and traveling. He is excited to be joining the field of anesthesia and finds it fascinating.

Joseph Galan, BSN, RN, CCRN
Joseph Galan is a Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) Program graduate student at AdventHealth University. He graduated from Union College, Nebraska, 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Before acceptance to the DNAP program, Joseph worked for a primary Level 1 trauma center in southern California as a certified moderate-sedation, critical-care transport nurse serving adult and pediatric populations. He has cumulatively worked as a Registered Nurse full-time for nine years, with a diverse background in emergency, survival/rescue, disaster management, and critical care. Joseph also serves as a commissioned officer in the US Air Force with Critical Care/En-Route Care (ERC) specialty training, diverse leadership experience, and prior service with the US Navy.

Nicholas Hamor, BSN, RN, CCRN
Nicholas is a graduate student in the Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Program at AdventHealth University. Nicholas graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2019. Prior to acceptance to the DNAP program, Nicholas worked in a surgical intensive care unit at AdventHealth Orlando. While working at AdventHealth, Nicholas took on the responsibilities of a charge nurse and precepted new nurses. When not studying or working, Nicholas enjoys going to the beach and exploring the outdoors. Nicholas is excited to pursue a career in the field of anesthesia.

Daniel Oliva, MSBS, RN, CCRN
Daniel is a graduate student in the Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) Program at AdventHealth University. Daniel graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2015, 2017 and 2019 with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, respectively. Prior to acceptance to the DNAP program, Daniel worked for the University of Central Florida from 2014-2018 as the Head Teacher’s Assistant (TA) for the Immunology Lab class. Here, Daniel lectured the concepts of serological studies that are often used in hospitals to a class of 50 students as well as trained students and other TAs on lecturing styles and public speaking. Furthermore, Daniel synthesized quizzes for his students to assess the knowledge gained from his lectures as well as the procedures the students performed in the lab with his guidance. In the four years as a Head TA, Daniel has taught over 2,000 students personally. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in nursing, Daniel’s first nursing position was at Advent Health’s South Advanced Cardiac Surgical Unit (ACSU), a cardiovascular unit that specialized in utilizing cardiac devices such the balloon pump, Impella, ventricular assist devices (VADs), and mostly, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation devices (ECMO). Daniel spent the next two years helping the ACSU grow from an eight-bed unit to a 32 bed unit as the ACSU became one of the biggest ECMO units in the nation. His responsibilities included precepting incoming nurses to the unit, managing patients after heart and/or lung transplantation and the role of ECMO specialist, where he would manage up to four in-use ECMO devices, as well as being a resource for the bedside nurses associated with his patients. Daniel Oliva loves the art of breaking down complex subject matters in ways that a person with any educational background can understand, from the serological principles of immunology to the functional principles of EC

Martine Saintil, BSN, RN, CCRN-CMC, SRNA
Martine is a graduate student in the Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program at AdventHealth University. Martine started her nursing career in 2010 as a home health and geriatric nurse. She graduated with her BSN from Florida A&M University in 2014 and transitioned to the acute care hospital setting in Orlando, FL, in 2015. Martine worked in the Medical Telemetry Unit and transitioned to working in critical care at a Multisystem ICU. In 2018, briefly, she worked for Advent Health Apopka and later took a position in the Cardiac Care Unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Palm Beach, Fl. As a critical care nurse, Martine has had tremendous opportunities to travel for work in several states, including California, Denver, and Mississippi. As a nurse, she took on the roles of mentor and preceptor and has leadership experience in my unit. On her spare time, she loves to travel, go biking, and watch plenty of documentaries. Lately, she has picked up a hobby of learning to play the bass guitar and crafting her vocal skills.
