Debra Davidson Sievers, RN, MS, CDE
Debra Davidson Sievers, RN, MS, CDE, graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio with a BSN (magna cum laude) in 1978 and an MS (summa cum laude) in 1988. She has worked as a staff nurse on medical-surgical and ICU/trauma units and as a clinical nurse specialist in multi-system progressive care units, endocrinology, and diabetes. Ms. Sievers was manager of the Interact Disease Management program for Florida Hospital. She also managed the outpatient Diabetes Center at Florida Hospital Celebration Health. In her current position as inpatient diabetes clinical nurse specialist for Florida Hospital Orlando, Ms. Sievers is responsible for overseeing the diabetes program at Florida Hospital’s Orlando, Altamonte, Apopka, East Orlando, Winter Park, Kissimmee, and Celebration Health campuses.
Ms. Sievers has been a certified diabetes educator since 1986, receiving recognition for diabetes patient education programs from numerous professional entities, including the Ohio Department of Health Diabetes Control Project and the American Diabetes Association. Ms. Sievers maintains professional affiliations with the American Diabetes Association, American Association of Diabetes Educators, and the Central Florida Association of Diabetes Educators, among others. She has delivered educational presentations to healthcare professionals on topics such as endocrine crises, diabetes care and management, standards of care, and adult teaching-learning theory; and presented to audiences at local meetings; universities and community colleges; and state, regional, national, and international conferences. Ms. Sievers has also contributed to and reviewed a number of published professional manuscripts, conducted research studies, and developed poster presentations on diabetes care and management.

Kathryn Zanfei, RN, MSN, CCNS
Kathryn Zanfei, RN, MSN, CCNS, graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1994. She completed her Master of Science degree in nursing in 2000. Ms. Zanfei is a certified nephrology nurse and registered professional nurse in Florida, Indiana, and Illinois. She is also an advanced practice registered nurse/certified clinical nurse specialist.
In her current position as clinical nurse specialist for the multi-system PCU at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida, Ms. Zanfei oversees two 39-bed PCU areas and acts as researcher, educator, change agent, practitioner, leader, and consultant.
