This course presents the dynamics and influences that can create a conflict when evaluating decisions of bioethics. How bioethics principles and practices can be influenced by different cultural backgrounds. This course will explore only a sampling of the concepts of culture, issues of justice and power, and religious practice conflicts as they pertain to bioethics in health care especially with a focus on the role of spiritual care providers.
Andy Lampkin, Ph.D.
Andy Lampkin, Ph.D., is Professor of Religion at AdventHealth University where he teaches bioethics and Christian social ethics. He is a Seventh-day Adventist Minister with more than two decades of professional ministerial experience. He holds an undergraduate degree from Oakwood University, a Divinity degree, and a Doctor Philosophy in Religion, Ethics and Society from Vanderbilt University.
