BIO1: Ethics in Daily Clinical Ministry
Hours: 1.00

You have already completed modules about listening and responding skills, explored how to build caring relationships, examined different developmental stages, role and boundary concerns, and recognizing spiritual wholeness indicators. So, now your skills have been increased, but what will you do when you encounter someone who needs more than you can safely provide. What if their needs are for more that a supportive, compassionate, and present relationship?

  • Participants will be introduced to some of the consistently occurring, ethical dimensions of spiritual care in the hospital/health care setting.
  • Participants will be introduced to some of the factors that influence individual health care decisions and the interplay between those decisions and one’s ethics and values.
  • Participants will become more aware of the impact of ethical decisions on care providers in the health care setting.
  • Participants will begin to understand what ethical principles inform health care and bioethics in the ministry of clinical spiritual care.
