Course Presenter: Amy McGinnis Stango, M.S. OTR/L, M.S. BCBA began providing applied behavior analysis services, with a special emphasis on verbal behavior in 1998. She holds a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Alvernia University, and is nationally registered occupational therapist. She also holds a masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Amy is the founder and clinical director of Empirical Pediatric Therapy, Inc., a transdisciplinary pediatric therapy center that specializes in a behavior analytic approach to occupational therapy. In addition to providing direct and consultative services to families, clinics and schools across the United States and abroad, Amy is a published researcher and frequent invited speaker at workshops and conferences.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this certification course attendees will be able to:
- Participants will accurately identify the differences between the topography and function of behavior.
- Participants will identify potential functions of behavior.
- Participants will identify strategies to prevent and respond to problematic behavior.
- Participants will identify strategies to teach functional skills to replace problematic behavior.
