On-Line Volunteer Orientation - Deland

Before you continue getting to know our organization let’s go over your registration and the volunteer commitment to AdventHealth. As part of the volunteer team, you will be required to commit to a minimum of:

  • Four (4) hours a week
  • For a period of six (6) months

Also depending on the area of service you selected you may be required to completed additional on-line courses in that special area. No worries, you will be informed of this at your interview.

Speaking of interview, do not forget to double check your registration email confirmation for the document checklist and the completed forms you need to bring with to your interview. For our eager volunteers, remember you must be at least 16 years of age and if you are Under the age of 18, your parent or guardian will need to sign your: Parent/Guardian Authorization form and you will need to bring it with you to your interview.

So what exactly does it take to become an AdventHealth Volunteer? Whether you are volunteering for school, college, corporate program, or for yourself, this online program will assist, you in the understanding the Patient Experience and how AdventHealth standards, healthcare regulations, and guidelines play an important role in volunteering. The introduction shares with you our history in wholistic healthcare.

We will be covering information such as who we are, our mission, values, and service standards, living a wholistic life, our cultural framework, diversity and inclusion, accountabilities of a volunteer - behavior, dress code, staying safe, and keeping our patients safe. We have also included some of the rewards and benefits you will receive while volunteering for AdventHealth.

After completing this online course program, the volunteer will have an understanding of:

  1. What it takes to become an AdventHealth volunteer.
  2. AdventHealth's expectations and accountabilities of a volunteer.
  3. AdventHealth's commitment to the volunteer.
  4. The AdventHealth's mission, vision, and values.
  5. The 8 bible-bases principles of CREATION Health<.
  6. Our history in wholistic health care.
  7. Our service standards; behavioral, and cultural standards.
  8. How Diversity and Inclusion plays an important role in our cultural framework.
  9. Corporate compliance and government regulations, such as HIPAA
  10. Rewards and benefits of becoming a volunteer.

AdventHealth Volunteer Services has been welcoming and managing volunteers since the inception of the Volunteer Program in 1954. We have had over 20,000 caring individauls assisting with our mission "To Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ."

I understand that I am required to complete the Volunteer Services Orientation Program assigned to me by AdventHealth Volunteer Services prior to my consideration for an interview.

I understand that in order to receive credit for completing the online courses(s) for Volunteer Services I must watch the entire course, complete the quizzes, pass the post test, and fill out the evaluation for each course.

I agree to adhere to the online course/program integrity guidelines and that, once I have successfully completed the course, I will be able to print my Certificate of Completion and submit to the Volunteer Office if required to do so.

I agree that upon receipt of my Certificate of Completion that said certificate will not be manipulated, altered, or changed from the original information in any way.

Note: On-line education activity integrity is a concept used to address the authenticity of the participant’s work.

Completion Requirements: To receive completion the participant must:

  • View all modules
  • Participate and pass all learning checks
  • Pass the Post Test(s) with a score of 100%
  • Complete and submit the on-line evaluation

Completion Certificates: Will be available to print immediately upon successful completion of this online course. It also will be stored electronically in your profile under your course history.

Electronic Record Retention: All activity records are kept on file for a minimum of six (6) years.
