3D Imaging Techniques for CT

This program is designed to provide imaging professionals with an overview of 3D imaging techniques for computed tomography. The content addresses concepts of 3D image generation, post-processing techniques, and treatment applications.

NOTE: This activity may be available in multiple formats or from different sponsors. ARRT regulations state that an individual may not repeat and report a self-learning activity for credit in the same biennium.

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
  1. Relate some of the historical perspectives and key milestones in 3D imaging development.
  2. Define the purpose and basic process for 3D imaging including 3D scanning and image generation.
  3. Identify common 3D space transformations.
  4. Describe several post-processing techniques with their specific advantages, disadvantages, and appropriate clinical applications.
  5. Discuss some of the current and future issues related to 3D imaging, including the role of the technologist.

Leanna Neubrander, M.H.Sc, RT(R)(CT)

Leanna has worked as an instructor for Adventist University of Health Sciences since 2006. In fact, she is an alumnus of the institution, graduating with her A.S. degree in Radiography and B.S. degree in Radiologic Sciences. She is certified and proficient in radiography and computed tomography, and has extensive training in magnetic resonance imaging. Ms. Neubrander obtained her master's degree from Nova Southeastern University in Health Sciences with a concentration in Higher Education. Ms. Neubrander is an active member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences. She has spoken at several conferences on various topics in computed tomography and education, and is a published author in the Radiologic Sciences and Education Journal.
