This course is part of the Anatomy and Physiology Review for NMT/RT. The endocrine system is the body's network of specialized glands that secrete minute amounts of chemical messengers, called hormones. Working in concert with the nervous system to regulate and coordinate basic body functions, endocrine hormones influence almost every cell, tissue, and organ to influence the way we feel and act. A&P for NMT/RT is designed to give an overview/review of the endocrine system with an emphasis on assessment, treatment and care of the patient with endocrine disorders most commonly encountered: Syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone, adrenal insufficiency, pheochromocytoma, Cushing's Syndrome, Addison's Disease, and hypoparathyroidism.
This content is supported by 6 addition anatomy and physiology courses for NMT/RT: Cardiovascular, Gastrointestinal, Hematology, Neurology, Pulmonary, and Renal.
