This course for the healthcare professional provides information on how to manage Latino patients safely and with dignity, improve their health and wellness outcomes, and ultimately help them assimilate into the U.S. healthcare system. This course outlines and defines specific healthcare priorities and deficiencies of first-generation Latin American immigrants through the recognition of signs of illiteracy and linguistic challenges. Also covered is human trafficking and ways to implement strategies to help protect patients. This is the first in a course series on Hispanic patient care.
