This Mentor course is designed for experienced nurses who are interested in developing and enhancing their mentoring skills. Discussed in this course are the reasons mentoring is so important, as well the concepts, outcomes, and relevance of mentoring. Also included are the characteristics of a mentor and the differences between the role of mentor and the role of preceptor. |

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to
1. discuss why mentoring is important;
2. reiterate the Characteristics of a Mentor;
3. discuss the concepts of mentoring;

5. grasp the difference between the role of mentor versus the role of the preceptor.
